The Sermon on the Mount: The Narrow Gate

Our last lesson in our series on the Sermon on the Mount looks at the contrasts Jesus draws at the conclusion of His sermon: two gates, two trees, two houses. As the sermon closes with a ominous warning of judgment, we will see the importance of obedience as evidence of authentic faith.

The Sermon on the Mount: Seek First the Kingdom of God

This lesson focuses on Matthew 6:19-7:12. Jesus will transition from warnings against hypocrisy to how the kingdom relates to earthly treasures as well as earthly needs. We will also look at one of the most famous and most often quoted verses of the Bible, "Judge not, that you be not judged." We will consider Jesus' command to ask, seek, and knock and how the Golden Rule "is the Law and the Prophets."
